I spent the day with a friend & colleague of mine shooting some footage and interviews up in The Museum of Country Life, Turlough, Co. Mayo.
What started as a beautiful morning turned horrible weather wise in the afternoon, although the inclement weather didn't stop all the activity and the 10 year celebrations.
An Taoiseach Endy Kenny turned up to plant a tree commerating the 10 year anniversary, he was in good form and seemed very at ease.
With lots to see and do under the cover of Marquee's and within the house and museum a well spent and very informative day -" oh we think we have it hard ... from what I saw, read and heard today, we have it very soft compared to the rural life 100 years ago".
The piece we were shooting will become part of Sky's showcase TV channel 201 next month, more details to follow, but if you get a chance to visit the Museum of Country Life, do, its well worth a trip, adults and children are welcome, with craft shop, cafe, and tons to see and learn about they have a hugh facility of 4 floors of pieces of country life from years ago. http://www.museum.ie/en/intro/country-life.aspx
